Surround Yourself with Inspiration

My art work is inspired by what I see and touch directly; those beautiful interplays of color and form that make me emotional. When the feeling is strongest, I try and capture it in a series of drawings. If they lead to a composition able to describe my experience, I put it on canvas with paint. My subjects are best rendered when they appear naturally, as if they are unaware they are being observed. Though my topics vary widely, I have a fondness for expressive people, houses and plants rooted in time or season, and collections of household items that speak of different historical times.  Current themes are the use of plastics and embroidery-like embellishment in still life to represent aspects of globalism.
